‘From what I’ve heard…’ – Ibrox Exclusive: Pundit delivers inside track on Rangers big name
We’re delighted to welcome former Scottish Premiership defender Alex Bruce as our exclusive columnist. Each week he’ll be giving his views on the biggest talking points at Rangers…
Alex Bruce has revealed that he has heard nothing but good things about Alfredo Morelos’ temperament away from the football pitch from Rangers players.
Speaking exclusively to Ibrox News, the former Kilmarnock defender claimed that the 23-year-old is somewhat misunderstood because of his well-documented poor disciplinary record.
Morelos has been dismissed twice so far this season, and saw red a further five times last term.
But teammate Jermain Defoe has praised his character in the dressing room in recent days, and Bruce believes that the Colombian is given a bad rap because of his on-field antics.
Speaking to Ibrox News, he said: “From what I’ve heard, from teammates who have played with him and everything, apparently he’s a good lad.
“He’s a little bit misunderstood sometimes because of his actions on the pitch.
“But there’s been a lot of people over the years who you can watch on the pitch and they’re like a raging bull, and you think ‘what’s he going to be like?’, and then off the pitch they’re completely different.
“There’s loads of examples like that.”
Morelos has hit 29 goals in all competitions so far this season, but has struggled for form since the winter break, hitting just one goal in all competitions.
His last league goal for the Gers came in the Boxing Day win over Kilmarnock.
