Ibrox Exclusive: Bruce raves about Rangers big name who has ‘huge potential’

We’re delighted to welcome former Scottish Premiership defender Alex Bruce as our exclusive columnist. Each week he’ll be giving his views on the biggest talking points at Rangers…

Alex Bruce has heaped praise on Rangers striker Alfredo Morelos for his “strong desire and winning mentality”.

Speaking exclusively to Ibrox News, the former Kilmarnock defender also claimed that the South American still has a “huge” amount of potential left to realise.

The 23-year-old has endured a mixed season, scoring 29 goals in all competitions, but registering just one since the winter break in January.

And Bruce believes that if he can improve his consistency, he can take his game up another level again.

Speaking to Ibrox News, he said: “Morelos, I think he’s a very good player with huge potential.

“He knows where the back of the net is and he’s got a very strong desire and a winning mentality.

“Sometimes that can boil over a little bit.

“He’s had a bit of an up and down season, and the second part of the season he’s not scored as many goals as he would have liked, but I think he just needs to use this time reflect on how he can come back strong, and hopefully he can do that for Rangers.”

Morelos has failed to score a league goal for the Gers since the 1-0 Boxing Day over Kilmarnock.

Despite his recent dip in form, he is still being linked with a move away from Ibrox this summer, with Colombian outlet Antena 2 suggesting that both St. Etienne and Atletico Madrid are keen on the striker.
