‘He has to leave Scottish football’ – Ex-PL striker urges player to quit Rangers
Hugo Rodallega has urged Alfredo Morelos to quit Rangers and move to a club in either the Premier League or La Liga.
Morelos, 23, has been a prolific goalscorer during his time at Ibrox, scoring 77 goals in 137 appearances across all competitions since joining the Light Blues in 2017.
The Colombia international, who still has another three years left on his contract in Glasgow, has been constantly linked with a move away from Rangers with top clubs across Europe being named as potential suitors.

Former Wigan and Colombia striker Rodallega believes that Morelos would flourish if he joined a club in one of Europe’s top leagues and suggested that a move to Newcastle United could be a good move for the Gers star.
“Alfredo is still a young man and he must take advantage of his situation. He is in a great position in his career because he scored many goals and many clubs will want to sign him,” said Rodellega, as quoted by the Daily Record.
“He has the confidence and ability to play in the English Premier League. He must be clear and tell his current club that he wants to go there.
“He has to leave Scottish football and move to a bigger league. Either England or Spain.
“Alfredo has shown what he can do in Scotland. He’s proved himself there and showed what a good player he is. Now it’s time for him to go to a league that is more demanding.
“If he gets the chance to work with Steve Bruce – someone I know very well – I know he would enjoy that because Bruce is a coach who gives his strikers a lot of confidence.
“That would be perfect for Alfredo.”

Morelos goes through patches of form where you think ‘yes, he could play for a top Premier League club’. But then there are issues with his discipline and behaviour that must raise huge red flags for those types of clubs.
Morelos has proven he is a great goalscorer at Ibrox and we hope to see him stay as long as possible.
But if he was to head south of the border or join a top team in Spain, not many people can hold a grudge against him for it.
