Chris Sutton reacts to latest Rangers swipe at Neil Doncaster

Chris Sutton has suggested that Rangers’ constant swipes at Neil Doncaster and the SPFL are down to their title bid falling apart during the winter.

Rangers had won just four of their last nine Scottish Premiership fixtures before the coronavirus pandemic brought football in the UK to a halt last month.

It meant that Celtic opened up a 13-point gap at the top of the table, putting them on course for a ninth league title in a row.

On Wednesday, Dundee voted in favour of ending the lower leagues now, with the standings being declared as they currently stand, meaning that Celtic’s chances of winning the Scottish Premiership without the full season being played have been boosted.

Rangers have since hit out at Doncaster and the SPFL with a new statement, saying the process has been “misleading and deeply flawed”.

The Gers added: “Publishing the outcome prior to all clubs having voted has undermined the democratic process and demonstrated unacceptable standards of corporate governance by the SPFL Executive.”

Ex-Celtic striker Sutton has since responded – as he always does – to give his view on the Light Blues’ statement.

And of course, he is willing to ignore the injustice of this voting process just to take yet another dig at the Ibrox giants.

“Democratic vote… overwhelming result… frustration must really be the wheels came off after the winter break… but blame everyone and everything else,” he said via his personal Twitter account.

If Sutton sees a tweet with the word “Rangers” in it, then you know you’re going to get a response from him.

It is best for the fans just to ignore what the ex-Celtic man says whenever he talks about the Gers because you cannot get a word out of him that doesn’t major bias towards his former club.

In other Rangers news, the club retains strong interest in this prolific striker.
