Report: Rangers retain strong interest in striker who Scotland want to call-up, Stoke also keen

Rangers still hold a “strong interest” in Livingston striker Lyndon Dykes as Scotland aim to call-up the 24-year-old to the national team, according to the Daily Mail.

Dykes has been in prolific form for Livingston this season, scoring 12 goals and supplying 10 assists in 33 appearances across all competitions.

His strong form has led to a tug-of-war over his international allegiance with him eligible to play for both Scotland and Australia, the country of his birth.

Rangers are now eyeing up the former Queen of the South striker while English Championship club Stoke are also keen.

The Light Blues remain hopeful of winning the race for Dykes’ signature with the promise of challenging for silverware in Glasgow, as well as the opportunity to play in Europe.

Dykes is bound to get the chance to play in Europe if he joins Rangers and he is also going to stand far more chance of winning titles at Ibrox than he would at Stoke.

It depends on what the striker wants because a lot of players do get attracted by the bright lights of the Premier League and a move to the English Championship could be seen as a gateway for the Australian-born hitman.

Rangers might find themselves in need of a new striker in the summer so this is one for fans to keep a close eye on.
