Ibrox View: Dundee statement shuts down conspiracy theories over Rangers
Dundee released a statement today clarifying its position on the farcical SPFL vote that was held last Friday and stated that Rangers acted with “complete professionalism”.
The vote ended with the SPFL releasing partial results with Dundee having the casting vote after it was stated they hadn’t submitted their decision.
In its statement, Dundee revealed that they had actually voted against the SPFL resolution to end the Championship and below immediately.
They said they had voted electronically and the first they knew their vote hadn’t been counted was when the SPFL released the partial results.
That heaps even more shame on the SPFL who are looking more and more incompetent as time goes on.
However, Dundee also stated that they decided to pause their vote after “we discovered that at least two Premiership clubs had modified their position from the understanding we had the day prior”.
Another interesting snippet from the statement was the following.
“Also, we are sorry to disappoint all of the conspiracy theorists by saying that we were never exposed to any ‘deals’ from either of the Glasgow giants. They both acted, as we would expect, with complete professionalism.”
That should put to bed any suggestion that Rangers have been trying to exert its influence on Dundee’s vote.
That just leaves the claim in the Rangers statement that other clubs had been subject to bullying in an attempt to get them to support the SPFL resolution.
The SPFL board is set to meet again on Wednesday evening when hopefully a sensible solution can be found to the shameful proceedings.
