Kenny Miller makes major Rangers transfer claim about ‘scintillating’ talent

Kenny Miller has claimed that Rangers will struggle to get a decent price for Alfredo Morelos if they do sell the Colombian at the end of the season.

The 23-year-old was highly sought after in January, with both Tottenham Hotspur and Inter Milan reportedly interested in luring him away from Ibrox, as per Football Insider.

No deal materialised, however, and Morelos’ form has slumped ever since, with just one goal to his name across all competitions since the winter break.

And Miller believes that it could negatively affect his price tag should the Gers look to sell him in the coming months.

As per the Scottish Sun, he said: “The first five months of this season he was in scintillating form, scoring lots of goals and drawing attention and admiration from all over Europe.

“But he then had a couple of sending-offs just before the winter shutdown, which led to him missing the first few matches after the resumption of the league, and that has been coupled with a real loss of form, particularly with his goalscoring.

Does Miller have a point here?
It’s definitely hard to envisage Morelos commanding the kind of fee that he might have just a couple of months ago.
That report from Football Insider claimed that Inter were willing to put up £25 million for El Bufalo.
Would they still be willing to pay that amount for a player who hasn’t scored a league goal since Boxing Day? Perhaps not.
Miller is right to suggest that the signs are still pointing towards the South American’s exit this summer too.
Football Insider also report that the Gers are planning a U-turn on their initial intentions to tie the striker down to a new deal.
As such, it’s not hard to imagine him packing his bags before next season begins, whenever that may be.
With that in mind, the priority has to be getting the best price possible for him, because even after this dip in form, replacing him will be no easy task.
