‘He’s got all the bits’ – Ibrox Exclusive: Bruce claims Rangers are ‘lucky’ to have 23y/o ace

We’re delighted to welcome former Scottish Premiership defender Alex Bruce as our exclusive columnist. Each week he’ll be giving his views on the biggest talking points at Rangers…

Alex Bruce has claimed that Rangers are “lucky to have” a player of Joe Aribo’s potential in their squad.

Speaking exclusively to Ibrox News, the former Kilmarnock defender suggested that the Nigeria international is a hugely impressive talent with plenty of promise left in him.

The 23-year-old signed for the Gers on a free transfer at the beginning of the season, and has established himself as a regular fixture of Steven Gerrard’s starting XI during his first term at Ibrox.

And Bruce has liked what he’s seen from the versatile midfielder thus far.

“I think he’s got all the bits [to be a success]”, he told Ibrox News.

“I was really impressed when I played against him. He gets up and down the pitch, he’s got a nice left foot, keeps the ball moving, he’s strong in the tackle.

“He’s done very well.

“They’re lucky to have him and hopefully he can keep on improving.”

Aribo signed for the Light Blues from Charlton Athletic in the summer, and has since made 47 appearances in all competitions, registering nine goals and eights assists.

The four-cap international has been a rare bright spark for the Gers during a tough spell since the winter break, and has drawn admiration from supporters for his continuous work ethic and quality in possession.
