‘Definitely, 100%’ – Arthur Numan issues major verdict on senior Rangers man
Rangers legend Arthur Numan has issued his full backing to manager Steven Gerrard.
The Gers have hit a rough patch of form in recent weeks, and have slipped to 13 points behind Celtic in the Scottish Premiership title race.
But Numan, who played for the club from 1998 until his retirement in 2003, believes that Gerrard is still the right man for the job.
Speaking on talkSPORT, as per the Scottish Sun, he said: “Steven deserves a lot of credit because he’s doing a really good job considering the circumstances.
“He has the credit from everybody. The belief is there again.

“Also to go so far in Europe… unfortunately we lost against Leverkusen but they are a really good team.
“So far he is doing a good job and the board should be happy to have someone like him as their manager. Am I fully behind him for another season? Definitely, 100 per cent.”

Does Gerrard deserve this level of support?
Given how poor the Gers’ form has been since the turn of the year, it is perhaps understandable that there are some who have begun to doubt whether or not Gerrard is the man to end Celtic’s dominance north of the border.
When you factor in that he is yet to lift a trophy at Ibrox, and that the chances of the Gers doing so this season are bordering on non-existent, it’s even easier to see why there are some strains of dissent.
That being said, he has definitely improved this side.
Taking them to the last 16 of the Europa League is one thing, but the boss has also averaged 2.03 points per game, a notable improvement on Graeme Murty‘s 1.9 per match.
At the very least, Gerrard deserves more time.
