Rangers secured a famous 1-0 win over SC Braga on Wednesday evening that ensured their passage to the Europa League Round of 16.

Relying on a perfectly executed game plan, the Gers were solid at the back and impressed on the break as they successfully picked off their Portuguese hosts with a Ryan Kent goal just after the hour mark to wrap up a 4-2 aggregate victory.

Notably, Steven Gerrard’s men had to do it all without Alfredo Morelos, who was suspended after picking up his fifth yellow card of the competition in the first leg.

That led to Gerrard giving Hibernian loanee Florian Kamberi the nod, and it’s fair to say that he had a mixed night.

There was plenty of effort on display from the 24-year-old, and he did manage one shot and one key pass, but for the most part, this was a full debut to forget.

Much to the ire of supporters, Kamberi was caught offside six times in 78 minutes, as per Whoscored.

In fact, that stat was so conspicuous that many fans took to social media to ask whether or not Kamberi was aware of the existence of the offside rule as a concept.

Factor in a pass completion rate of just 59.1%, and it’s safe to say that the striker has an awful lot of improving to do if he is to challenge Alfredo Morelos going forward.
