‘Sign that lad’ – These Rangers fans urge club to sign Livingston ace after Ibrox clash

Many Rangers fans have taken to Twitter to plead with their side to make a move for Livingston striker Lyndon Dykes.

The 24-year-old led the line for the Lions during their trip to Ibrox this weekend, and came with a whisker of finding the back of the net when he saw a shot cannon back off the upright late in the game.

Thankfully, he didn’t score and the Gers were able to pick up a much-needed three points, but he still did more than enough to impress the watching Ibrox faithful.

And now some supporters are calling for the club to swoop for him in the summer.

It’s not too hard to figure out why either.

Dykes is a proven goalscorer in the Scottish Premiership, and so far this term has a very respectable 12 goals in 30 appearances across all competitions for the Lions.

More than that, however, he would offer the Gers something that they don’t really possess up front – raw physicality.

The striker is a powerful handful of a player, and so far this season, he has contested an average of 19.92 aerial duels per 90 minutes, as per Wyscout.

Having somebody like that, who can wrestle and occupy defenders, would never go amiss and the likes of Alfredo Morelos and Jermain Defoe would surely benefit from that kind of presence too.

Perhaps Florian Kamberi can be that man, but if things don’t work out for the loanee, Dykes would surely be a great alternative.
