24-year-old heads to Glasgow for Rangers medical – report

Rangers are closing in on a deal to sign Hibernian forward Florian Kamberi on loan, according to the Daily Record.

The newspaper claims that the 24-year-old is set to complete a medical with the Light Blues before wrapping up his temporary deal, which does not include an option to buy clause.

Kamberi enters the final year of his contract at Hibs at the end of the season and it is understood that the Edinburgh club would not sanction the Albanian’s exit unless they signed a replacement.

However, given that Kamberi is on his way down the M8 to Glasgow, it seems as though Hibs are closing in on a new striker addition.

Kamberi has scored eight goals and supplied four assists in 27 appearances across all competitions for Hibernian this season.

Only three of those goals have come in the Scottish Premiership this term but it seems as though Steven Gerrard has seen enough from the striker to think he can be useful at Ibrox until at least the summer.

Kamberi joined Hibernian from Swiss side Grasshopper in July 2018.

He’s since scored 30 goals in 84 total appearances for the Easter Road club.
