Robbie Savage shuts down suggestion of ‘unbelievable’ Rangers star leaving this season

Rangers are a completely different animal with Alfredo Morelos leading the line.

That is not doubting the ability that Jermain Defoe clearly has, but the Colombian is ruthless both in attack and defence – sending shivers down the spines of opposition sides.

Robbie Savage recently responded to a Bournemouth fan suggesting his side go all out for the Colombian, quickly shutting down the claim.

“Morelos is not going to go to Bournemouth, is he? Come on,” he said on BBC Five Live 606.

“Me and Chris Sutton always argue about Edouard or Morelos. I know he’s not scored against Celtic but his goals for Rangers have been unbelievable, scored in the Europa League as you rightly say.

“But I don’t think if you’re Morelos you go to Bournemouth.”

If Rangers are serious about their title push this season, they simply must keep hold of Morelos this January. They are currently in the driving seat, and if they win their game in hand coming up, they will overtake fierce rivals Celtic.

The Colombian is also key to any potential success in the Europa League after firing the Gers through the group stages. Morelos scored six goals in the groups – breaking the record for the most goals before Christmas in the competition.
