Rangers defender Borna Barisic has been nothing short of superb under Steven Gerrard at Ibrox.
The Croatian full-back continued that form into the Old Firm derby on Sunday, claiming two assists as the Gers left their fierce rivals with all three points in a 2-1 victory.
Unfortunately for Rangers fans, you can’t have it all your own way. A player can only excel for so long before big clubs start sniffing around your brightest talents, and that is exactly the case here.
Calciomercato has reported that both AC Milan and Roma have joined the race to sign Barisic this season.
The Italian outlet claim on their website that the Serie A duo are in the market for replacements for Ricardo Rodriguez and Aleksandar Kolarov respectively in the next year should they both leave.
It is also suggested that a number of Premier League clubs have also registered interest in the Croatian, but they were not named in the report.
Barisic has already delivered 13 assists in all competitions from left-back and is one of Gerrard’s secret weapons in the final third along with fellow full-back James Tavernier.
The Bears gaffer will want to do all it takes to secure the future of Barisic, but the spending power of these big clubs can talk, and if they come in with a lucrative offer it may be hard to turn down.
