‘Wouldn’t be possible’ – Rangers star hails teammates for ‘Amazing’ moment

There isn’t much that Rangers forward Alfredo Morelos is capable of.

Morelos has always been on fire in front of goal but has matched that with a discipline problem – one that saw him sent off recently against Motherwell.

The Colombian international recently broke the Europa League record for most goals scored before Christmas in the competition, with his strike against Young Boys his 14th of the campaign.

The 23-year-old opened up on breaking that record on Wednesday, claiming that his teammates deserve to take the same amount of credit as he has.

“It is amazing to find out that I have broken this record,” he told the BBC.

“But of course it wouldn’t be possible without all of my team-mates helping me. To score for Rangers is always really meaningful to me and I love playing in big European matches here.”

That sort of team morale is one part of how Steven Gerrard has brought back success to Ibrox. Morelos’ goals are key and could be a big part of if the Light Blues are set to add silverware this season.

Morelos clearly has a big love for everything about Rangers, and that will give everyone hope that he will stick around beyond this season.

His success both domestically and European have seen a number of teams linked with a big-money move for the South American.

Rangers fans will be crossing their fingers that these comments are the first hint that he wants to stay in Scotland.
