Rangers navigated a potential banana skin at Fir Park on Sunday, recovering from their Europa exploits on Thursday to beat Motherwell 2-0.

Nikola Katic got the first in the 27th minute – he’s been in the side following the absence of Filip Helander at the back.

Alfredo Morelos added another to his growing tally for the season, securing the points in the 71st minute, but there was a sting in the tail.

Morelos went to celebrate in front of the home fans and was given a second yellow card by Don Robertson.

It was harsh. It’s not the first time players have done that this season, and not all have been punished in the same way.

Knowing that it was his second yellow should have warranted a talking to rather than a sending off, but Morelos can’t have any actual complaints.

It’s a real shame as he’s done wonders to curb his wild antics this season and this was the first time he’s been sent off this season.

Aside from that, he was fantastic, as he’s been all season and was our man of the match.

He’ll be a big miss for the game against Hibs on Friday but Jermain Defoe will get the chance to add the goals in his absence.

In the meantime, here are fans who appreciated how well Morelos played on Sunday…
