Ibrox View: Sutton adds to misery for Rangers fans after one-sided cup final

This was a tough one to take for Rangers.

Rangers were by far the better side on Sunday but just couldn’t find the goal that could have opened the floodgates.

Celtic nicked a goal and then hung on, with Alfredo Morelos missing a penalty as his curse continues in Old Firm games.

It was also a tough one to take with Chris Sutton on commentary. He’s a massive Chelsea fan and couldn’t keep a lid on it on Sunday.

We praised the BT coverage ahead of the game, with the broadcaster dedicating the hours for such a huge game.

However, it wasn’t a good experience for Rangers fans during the game.

To be fair to Sutton, he played it straight on Twitter after the game saying that “Rangers deserved more”. Fraser Foster was their man of the match and that says everything from a game that really should have gone the other way.

Rangers now have to pick themselves up and go again on Thursday with another massive game against Young Boys.

A draw is enough for them to secure European football after Christmas and that would take away the hurt from missing out on the first piece of silverware of the Gerrard era.
