Rangers made things difficult for themselves in the first half in Rotterdam on Thursday evening.
Steven Gerrard’s men started brightly but let Feyenoord into the game and Dick Advocaat’s side slowly took control.
Allan McGregor had to be on his toes a few times in the first 45 minutes but he couldn’t do anything about the opening goal from Feyenoord, with Jens Toornstra’s shot taking a deflection off Filip Helander’s knee.
That came after a poor couple of pieces of play from Borna Barisic.
First he overhit a cross with Alfredo Morelos waiting in the middle.
Then he failed to clear the danger with his head and from the resulting play, Feyenoord fashioned their chance to score.
Fans weren’t happy with him and he came in for some criticism on Twitter at half-time.
Is barisic wearing a pair a wellies tonight? Not a single decent cross from him 😭

Rangers have been brutal the first 45 minutes Ojo, Barišić, Tav….🙈🙈 why after an international break does it takes 3 games to get some rhythm?

Kent has lost the ball numerous times but at least he’s progressing the ball forward unlike that other guy on the wing.
Barisic has also been fairly poor considering how well he’s been playing recently.
Massive step up needed next half.

Helander doing the defending of 2 men at the moment, Barisic's positioning has been awful.

Barisic being pre st mirren barisic

Really poor from Barisic, why not head the ball wide instead of straight to their player.
We’ve been incredibly sloppy so far. Very fortunate it’s only 1-0.

Very poor from Barisic again. He was bad at the goal on Sunday too. He’s the golden boy on here just now but he needs to cut out these mistakes

The only saving grace for Rangers is that Young Boys are beating Porto 1-0 in the other game which would mean a draw would be good enough to qualify.
