Rangers boost as Feyenoord hit with injury problems ahead of Europa clash

Rangers can take a huge step towards the Europa knockout stages and qualify on Thursday night with a win or a draw if the other result goes their way.

And Steven Gerrard’s men have been given a big boost with the news that Feyenoord are very likely to be missing two – and possible more – key first-team players.

Full back Rick Karsdorp is definitely out and striker Nicolai Jorgensen is a major doubt, as confirmed by manager Dick Advocaat.

As quoted in the Scottish Sun, Advocaat said, “Rick Karsdorp is out for two weeks and won’t play against Rangers.

“And Nicolai suffered an injury in training. He’s a real doubt for this week’s game. We won’t know until the day before.

“And I would rather give players a chance to rest properly anyway.”

Full back Ridgeciano Haps is also a doubt after missing their game at the weekend.

Rangers and Young Boys head the group on seven points, with Porto and Feyenoord both with four points.

Depending on how results go, Rangers could qualify on Thursday or all four teams could end up with the same points going into the final gameweek.

Rangers have home advantage then as they host Young Boys.

Rangers have won six games on the bounce now, going back to the 1-1 draw against Porto in the Europa League in October.
