Steven Gerrard and Ross Wilson have already made it clear that they don’t need to sell any of Rangers’ star players in January.
Talking back at the start of November, Gerrard said, “I’m 100 percent sure he is not going anywhere.”
You’d think that’s a pretty clear message but reports have still linked Morelos with other clubs – the latest being St Etienne.
They look like they’ve conceded defeat finally, after a report from French outlet 10Sport said a January move was ‘highly unlikely’ as Rangers were being greedy and holding out for a big fee.
The report said a move in the summer could be on the cards if his price hasn’t gone up again by then.
It’s comical really. Rangers have made it very clear they don’t want to sell in January and, regardless, if and when he does go, he won’t be sold cheaply.
And that makes Rangers ‘greedy’? Hopefully, the days are gone of Rangers selling prize assets at under market value.
Morelos has set his heart on a move to the Premier League and that’s the place where Gers are likely to realise the sort of fee that they’ll want for Morelos, with his price surely starting around £20m if he can keep up his form so far for the rest of the season.
Morelos has already scored 22 goals and against tough opposition in the Europa League. Rangers aren’t greedy, they’re just no mugs.
