Charlie Nicholas predicts Rangers v Porto clash at Ibrox
Sky Sports pundit Charlie Nicholas has predicted that Rangers and Porto will play out another draw, this time at Ibrox, in the Europa League.
Rangers drew 1-1 out in Portugal, with Alfredo Morelos getting the equalising goal. Steven Gerrard would have taken a draw ahead of the game but his side were unlucky not to go on and win it in the second half.
However, that and their recent form – Rangers beat Hearts 3-0 in the League Cup semi-final – hasn’t been enough to convince Nicholas that they can claim all three points at Ibrox tonight.
He thinks that the game will mirror the last one and end 1-1.
Writing on the Sky Sports website, Nicholas said, “Like Celtic, the Rangers draw in Porto was something I didn’t quite anticipate.
“Steven Gerrard left out Joe Aribo and Sheyi Ojo, who haven’t played at this level before. He went with a cunning and experienced plan and it worked a treat with Rangers playing really well.

“Everyone was expecting them to go back to forward and fill in when they didn’t have the ball, but they were worthy of a point, and if not all three.
“Porto are not what they were four or five year ago but are still incredibly dangerous. They are all technically very good players.
“The passion, drive and commitment can get you over the line, but it will be a frustrating night for Rangers. It is hard to pin who wins this group and this result will leave it wide open with a draw.”
In the other game, bottom of the group Feyenoord take on group leaders Young Boys, with just three points separating all four sides.
A win for Rangers would leave them on seven points, three ahead of Porto with two games to go.
The game kicks off at 8pm and fans can watch it live on BT Sport in the UK.
