It’s been a strong start to the season for Rangers.
Level on points with Celtic at the top of the Premiership and ready to contest the League Cup final next month.
If triumphant, that would be the first piece of Silverware of the Steven Gerrard era. And it would signal that Rangers are back at the very top table in Scotland after years in the wilderness.
It’s been a strong start to the season for Rangers. Ryan Jack has been brilliant, Jermain Defoe and Alfredo Morelos have been scoring for fun, Filip Helander and Connor Goldson have struck up a strong partnership in defence, and there’s real depth in the squad.
And there’s more to come. Ryan Kent, who cost £7m in the summer, has only made three Premiership appearances as he returns to full fitness.
He played 66 minutes in the 3-0 semi-final win against Hearts and set-up the third goal for Morelos.
He has warned Rangers’ rivals that there’s more to come from him and talking in the Daily Record said, “Once I get a run of games under my belt and get into the swing again, I will probably be seeing better performances.”
That’s been corroborated by a source at the club who told Football Insider that he has looked “scintillating” behind the scenes.
The FI story said: “The recruit from Liverpool has dazzled in small-sided matches with his footwork, dribbling and ball manipulation, with teammates excited about what he can do in the coming months.”
Rangers fans know exactly what Kent is capable of and that’s an exciting prospect for a player who’s a cut above most other players in the Premiership.
With Kent back to full strength for the cup final, it’s an exciting time to be a Rangers fan.
