There’s speculation about the future of Alfredo Morelos in every transfer window and it looks like this winter will be no different.
Morelos himself has fanned the flames with an interview he gave to Colombian station Blu Radio.
As quoted in the Scottish Sun, Morelos said, “There is a lot of speculation of teams, things I’ve read on Twitter and stuff, but there’s been nothing concrete, but if there is then I will let you know.
“I just need to continue doing things to the best of my ability and we will see now in the winter transfer window if there’s the chance to make a bigger move, to a much better and more competitive league.
“It would be good for me to keep improving, both for my game and my statistics to keep doing things the best I can.”
Morelos has always been open about a dream move to the Premier League and with his ongoing form it seems a case of when not if this will happen.
Both Crystal Palace and Aston Villa have been linked with a move for the prolific hitman but, despite plenty of rumours, Morelos is still at Ibrox.
Both him and Jermain Defoe are in rich goal-scoring form at the moment.
Morelos upped his tally to 18 across all competitions with a brace against Ross County in midweek.
Defoe has 13 in all competitions, including 10 in eight Premiership games.
There’s a feeling that if both strikers stay fit and keep scoring, Rangers will have the firepower to wrest the Premiership trophy from Celtic.
Losing Morelos in January would be a big blow and Gerrard will want to do everything he can to hold onto him until at least next summer.
