John Barnes was one of the worst managers at Celtic and we’re hoping his predicting skills are no better as he thinks Rangers will fall short in the league again.
Barnes has said that he thinks Celtic will win the league again this season but admitted that Gers had improved a lot and would run them a lot closer.
As quoted in the Daily Record, Barnes said, “Everyone said that over time Rangers will get closer to Celtic and that is exactly what has happened.
“I still think Celtic will win the league this year, but I think it will be much closer this season. Scottish football needs stronger teams.”
The bookies agree with Barnes, with Celtic favourites at just 1/2 to lift the title. Rangers are 2/1, which means the bookies think Steven Gerrard has a 33% chance of lifting the trophy and qualifying for the Champions League.
We’re level on points with Celtic after 10 games and our only loss is still the Old Firm clash when we just didn’t turn up.
Gerrard’s men travel to play Ross County on Wednesday night, while Celtic host St Mirren.
