Rangers may have no time to waste if they hope to beat Wrexham this transfer window.

Russell Martin has been handed six new additions at the Gers and also inherited former Dundee midfielder Lyall Cameron.

The Light Blues have been working on reinforcing their attack recently, and it looks like Mikey Moore will be joining them from Tottenham.

Despite signing the likes of Max Aarons from Bournemouth, former Peterborough United centre-back Emmanuel Fernandez and Nasser Djiga on loan from Wolves, the Glaswegian outfit are still in the market for more defenders, but may have to move quickly to sign one of their targets.

Wrexham join Rangers in Conor Coady transfer race

Wrexham are eyeing an "ambitious" move for Leicester City centre-back Conor Coady, according to the Daily Mail.

The news outlet reports (30 July) that the Championship outfit are the frontrunners to sign the 32-year-old, who's set to leave the King Power Stadium.

It's been claimed that the English defender has been impressed by the progress the Hollywood-backed Welsh team have made in recent seasons, with a fourth promotion being eyed by 2027.

  • Rob McElhenney and Ryan Reynolds bought Wrexham in 2020.
  • The Welsh club have won three successive promotions since the 2022/23 season.
  • Phil Parkinson's team are now competing in the EFL Championship.

Coady has been a long-term target at Ibrox this summer, but the Gers could potentially miss out on him.

The Light Blues should think about making a final push to complete the 32-year-old's transfer soon amid interest from Wrexham.

Robin Propper exit opens door for Coady transfer

Robin Propper has returned to FC Twente after an underwhelming year in Glasgow, which may open the doors for the Leicester centre-back's arrival.

Rangers could arguably do with more depth in the central defensive department, with Clinton Nsiala also seemingly out of Martin's plans at Ibrox.

Coady boasts a ton of Premier League experience, and having played at the highest level, the Scottish Premiership shouldn't feel daunting to him.

The 32-year-old's arrival would certainly help the Scottish manager at Ibrox, with fans hoping to knock Celtic off their perch.
