Rangers have seen their offer for Frosinone winger Fares Ghedjemis get rejected.

The Gers and Celtic tabled bids worth £8.5million recently for the Algeria international, but they were turned down.

Since then, the Light Blues have moved on to other targets, but there's every chance they may have to turn their attention back to him.

While the Ibrox hierarchy clearly made a significant financial commitment to sign Ghedjemis, Frosinone seem to want to keep him.

The 23-year-old was a key player for the Italian club last season as they won promotion to Serie A.

In 37 league appearances, the right-winger scored 15 goals and provided three assists for the Lazio-based team.

However, according to L'Equipe on 7 August, AS Monaco have entered the race for the Algerian attacker and have seen an initial package deal of £7.7m get rejected.

The Ligue 1 club are expected to follow up with another bid, with the forward open to joining them.

An agreement between Monaco and Frosinone could be reached for £8.5m, but that will surely leave the two Old Firm clubs wondering why their earlier proposals were dismissed.
