Why Derek McInnes has cause for Rangers concern after 'damning' transfer reality
Derek McInnes must be worried about the lack of quality in his Rangers squad.
Despite signing 11 players this transfer window, the Gers arguably look no better than they did last season.
The Scottish manager was brought in to win silverware immediately, but that looks unlikely after what's been seen at the start of the season.
McInnes still undoubtedly needs multiple additions at Ibrox to build a successful project.
The 55-year-old head coach has been left with a squad that clearly lacks quality in multiple areas of the pitch.
One position with an abundance of numbers right now is midfield, but there may still be cause for concern in Govan.
Andy Halliday's Rangers transfer assessment
Kim Min-su is expected to be Rangers' 12th signing of the summer, with the club close to an agreement with Girona.
That would likely address a part of the Gers' evident recruitment needs before the fast-approaching deadline day.
Andy Halliday would like to see another winger follow Kim to Ibrox.
The former Light Blues player also wants to see further additions in midfield for McInnes.
Despite the Glaswegian outfit signing Dan Neil, Cammy Devlin and Vanja Dragojevic this summer, they all have similar profiles.
McInnes also has Tochi Chukwuani, Nicolas Raskin, Connor Barron and Lyall Cameron at his disposal, but the futures of the latter three remain uncertain.
Speaking on BBC Sportsound on 22 August, Halliday said: "One thing for sure, for me, I think, personally, they need two more wingers and two more midfielders."
Kenny Macintyre responded: "That's damning, isn't it?"
Why Ibrox chiefs may be looking over their shoulder
Dan Purdy and Jim Gillespie appear to be a big part of Rangers' recruitment team.
Gretar Steinsson of 49ers Enterprises has also played a role in the Gers' transfer strategy since last year's takeover.
The Light Blues are about to make their 28th signing since the change of ownership, but it's safe to say most of them have failed to live up to expectations so far.
Kevin Thelwell and Patrick Stewart didn't last long at the Glaswegian outfit and Andrew Cavenagh may want to make further changes in the boardroom if things don't improve soon.
