Rangers have been extremely busy preparing for the 2026/27 Scottish Premiership this close season.

Another managerial appointment was required after Danny Rohl departed for RB Salzburg, just eight months after arriving at Ibrox.

Rangers moved quickly to snaffle Derek McInnes from Hearts, whom he nearly led to a famous Scottish Premiership title last term.

Plenty of work has been done to shape McInnes' squad ready for a fresh assault on the title at Ibrox.

But there is plenty more still to happen in the next few weeks ahead of the season-opener at Dundee United on 31 July.

Here's what we know and what we don't know about Rangers' transfer window so far.

What we know: Rangers transfers so far point to one conclusion

Rangers have already been busy adding to the squad in the window, with five arrivals through the door at Govan.

Lawrence Shankland followed the same path as McInnes after arriving from Hearts, while Ross McCrorie, Ben Godfrey, Ivor Pandur and Dan Neil, have all signed on.

One thing is clear from the early work, McInnes is keen to add either battled-hardened Scottish Premiership talent, such as Shankland and McCrorie, or leaders such as Neil.

Recruitment has been a real issue at Ibrox in recent years, and one thing that has often been lacking is enough players who understand what it takes to get things over the line in Scotland's top flight.

With Lewis Ferguson having been linked with a move from Bologna, too, there is clearly a school of thought that more Scottish talent is the way to go.

What we know: Rangers clearly have two immediate priorities

There will be more arrivals at Ibrox in the coming weeks, and it looks as though Rangers clearly have two immediate priorities.

While Dan Neil has already arrived, there is plenty to suggest that Rangers want more reinforcement in central midfield.

Ferguson has been strongly linked with a switch from Serie A, while talks are ongoing with Serbian outfit Partizan for their young midfielder Vanja Dragojevic.

Centre-back looks to be a priority position too, with Rangers having already missed out on the signing of Luke Graham, who ultimately made the move to Stoke City.

Zinedin Smajlovic was a reported target, but is now seemingly destined to join Olympiacos in Greece, while Sankhoun Diawara of Troyes is a reported target.

What we don't know: Mikey Moore future still to be decided

Mikey Moore became a first fans' favourite with the Ibrox faithful during his loan spell from Tottenham Hotspur last season.

The 18-year-old scored seven goals and provided three assists in 33 top-flight appearances last season.

There has been plenty of hope that Moore might make a return to Rangers during the summer transfer window.

However, Spurs do not want to sell Moore, and Roberto De Zerbi apparently wants to have a first-hand look at the teenager in pre-season before deciding what do with him next.

So, there certainly remains a possibility he comes back, but for now it is a bit of a waiting game as to whether he has another season with Rangers.

What we don't know: Will Nico Raskin leave Rangers this summer?

It seems no coincidence that Rangers are looking at boosting their central midfield ranks at the same time uncertainty surrounds Nico Raskin's future.

Coincidentally, he has been linked with a move to Bologna, coached by his former Belgium boss Domenico Tedesco, which could open the door for Ferguson to move to Rangers.

Premier League new boys Hull City have also reportedly had Raskin on their radar as they prepare for lift in the top flight.

Rangers have been guilty in the past of not cashing in on players when they have the opportunity to do.

So, while it would be a shame to see Raskin to depart, it feels like an exit might be the sensible move given the 25-year-old has two years left of his contract and could still command a sizeable fee.
