What PSV have done as Rangers launch new bid to seal Couhaib Driouech transfer

Rangers are not giving up in their pursuit to sign PSV Eindhoven winger Couhaib Driouech.

After starting their push to sign the Moroccan with a £6million bid, rival interest started to grow.

Derek McInnes is desperate for a new winger, but Celta Vigo and Burnley have since joined the race.

Daisuke Yokota has signed from Hannover 96 already, but the Bears want more in the final third, still.

Driouech would be that marquee arrival, with things now developing quickly behind the scenes.

As PSV started their season on Saturday, all roads currently lead to Ibrox.

Rangers make their move to win Couhaib Driouech race

One thing you can't accuse Andrew Cavenagh and the 49ers of doing, is standing still.

According to the Scottish Sun, Rangers have launched a fresh bid to sign Driouech in the last 24 hours.

The newspaper reports on its website that Driouech was left out of PSV's squad for the 2-2 draw against Fortuna Sittard.

That's as negotiations continue over his future, with Rangers not giving up hope and McInnes "desperate" for more.

Rangers could land what is described as a "major coup", as the Light Blues refuse to give up in the chase.

As that goes on, PSV are already looking at replacements.

Where would Couhaib Driouech fit in?

This is very simple.

McIness has changed between formations so far in his two competitive games, playing two strikers against Dundee, but only one in Europe away at Jagiellonia.

One constant of those, is having two wingers on the pitch.

Thelo Aasgaard was far from good in Poland, with his main position still not nailed down.

Yokota struggled on debut, but didn't have a training session before, to be fair to him.

And as Findlay Curtis impressed in his cameo, he should start against Hibernian at Ibrox on Sunday.

All of that leaves another spot on the opposite flank as Driouech's potential new teammates look to impress more consistently.

Given his experience in very big games, he should slot in immediately, if Rangers can win the race with their latest bid.
