Mikey Moore has described playing in the Old Firm derby with Rangers as an "unbelievable experience."

The 19-year-old was a major hit during his season-long loan spell at Ibrox last term.

He netted seven times and provided four assists in 47 total appearances, showing his potential to become a top player in the future.

Moore also scored twice against Celtic last season, both in the 3-1 defeat and victory of the same scoreline at Parkhead.

Now with German Bundesliga side FC Cologne for the 2026-27 season, the England youth international is hoping to make his mark in a top European league.

This Sunday is the biggest day in Cologne's calendar too, as the Rhine derby comes to town.

What did Mikey Moore say about Rangers fans?

There are few, if any, derbies in world football bigger than the Old Firm.

As such, the experience gained for playing in it, especially for a young player at the start of their career, is invaluable.

Moore is going to have to draw on this on Sunday, as his Cologne side host Borussia Monchengladbach in the Rhine derby.

Speaking with Cologne via their official English X account, the teenager was quizzed on his Rangers spell and how his Old Firm history can help him on Sunday.

"I've obviously had a special experience last year scoring in one of the biggest derbies in the world," Moore said.

"Yeah it was an unbelievable experience and some great fans.

"So I've played in that and I think that's going to help me go into games like this because I'm used to playing under that type of pressure.

"I've been told how big this is (Rhine derby) for all the people, so I'm excited to get going."

The Rhine derby is one of Germany's biggest derbies, but how can Rangers fans watch Moore in action this weekend if they so choose?

Rangers vs Kilmarnock: How to watch, TV channel and kick-off time as club football returns

What streaming service is showing Cologne vs Gladbach?

With Rangers taking on Kilmarnock this Saturday, the Ibrox faithful's attention will solely be on events in Govan to start the weekend.

However, if you're looking for plans to fill your Sunday afternoon, then you could watch Moore getting his first taste of the Rhine derby.

Cologne's clash with Monchengladbach is scheduled for a 2:30pm kick-off UK time on Sunday.

Prime Video are showing the game live on a pay-per-view basis, with a match pass costing £2.49.

Moore has played in Cologne's last three Bundesliga games and has started in the previous two, so he looks set to play a key role on Sunday.
