Rangers loanee Vaclav Cerny is attracting summer transfer interest from West Ham United and Villarreal, according to Fichajes.

The Spanish outlet reported on 14 January that Cerny's "dream" displays at Ibrox this season have alerted interest from Spain and England.

Cerny is in line to return to Wolfsburg following his loan spell at Ibrox, with the Gers having no agreement in place with his parent club to sign the 27-year-old permanently.

The Hammers are already seen as the favourites for a deal, and the "financial power" they possess as a Premier League side could see both the Light Blues and Villarreal beaten to his signature.

Rangers have next to no chance of sealing Vaclav Cerny transfer

Widespread interest in their star winger will leave the Gers' hierarchy kicking themselves that they didn't agree on an option or obligation to buy Cerny as part of his loan deal, but Wolfsburg certainly won't be.

The Bundesliga side may have anticipated the form Cerny would hit in light blue this term, and as a result, didn't want to tie themselves down to a deal well below what the Czech's market value could be.

That market value is expected to soar once the summer transfer window comes around, leaving the Bears at a significant disadvantage when it comes to matching bids made by the likes of West Ham.

Ibrox is hardly awash with cash these days – the Gers having lost £17.2million in their latest accounts – and regardless of whether Cerny wants to stay put, the figures offered to Wolfsburg will determine his future.

For the time being, Bears fans will simply have to enjoy Cerny's performances down the flanks while they still can, for unless a huge influx of cash arrives at Ibrox, it's likely he won't be there for the long term.
