FC Twente are interested in signing Sam Lammers from Rangers, according to Voetbal International.

The report on 7 June states that the Eredivisie side are targeting the striker after his successful spell in the Netherlands with FC Utrecht last season.

Utrecht were reportedly keen to sign Lammers permanently but are struggling to meet his wage demands.

Should Rangers sell Sam Lammers to FC Twente?

Rangers appear to be open to selling Lammers this summer and looked to have the perfect suitor in Utrecht, for whom Lammers starred in the Netherlands last season.

However, the Dutch side's financial limitations have thus far proved a stumbling block in any possible transfer.

Enter Twente, whose involvement in the 2024/25 Champions League qualifiers likely affords them greater financial muscle as they look to ensure they build a squad strong enough to reach the competition proper and claim the significant windfall that comes with involvement in the group stages.

For the Gers, the sale of Lammers could prove a useful boost to their coffers as head coach Philippe Clement plans a squad overhaul this summer.

The offloading of a player not in the Belgian's plans for a decent sum would certainly be no bad thing as Rangers build towards another title tilt in 2024/25.
