Rangers defender Robin Propper has reacted after Scott Wright's deadline day transfer to Birmingham City was confirmed.

The Scottish winger, who was linked with an Ibrox exit for much of the summer transfer window, ended his stay in Glasgow and completed a reported £300,000 move [Sky Sports, 29 August] to St Andrew's on Friday (30 August).

Wright certainly split the opinion of both pundits and supporters throughout his time with Rangers, but teammate Propper was quick to react after the 27-year-old's last-minute transfer was confirmed by the League One side.

Replying to Birmingham City and Wright's Instagram post on Friday (30 August) the Light Blues defender posted two praising emojis after the two shared a changing room for the last few months.

Did Rangers make any signings on transfer deadline day at Ibrox?

Propper and Wright may not have been teammates for very long at Rangers, but the defender's quick reply to the move suggests that the winger was a popular member of the team within the Gers' changing room.

Ultimately, it feels as though Clement's side has moved past the Scotsman over the course of the summer, with the focus on a different style of wingers in the mould of Vaclav Cerny or Oscar Cortes rather than Wright.

The important thing for the Light Blues is the fact that they managed to get him off of their wage bill with plenty of time to spare on deadline day so that they themselves could make some last-minute additions before the window slammed shut.

It may not have been quite a severe rebuild of the squad as most fans expected given Clement's public desire to make some big changes, but on the face of it, Rangers looked better equipped to overthrow Celtic than they did 12 months ago.

Whether or not that is truly the case will be clear on Sunday (1 September) when the two Old Firm rivals face one another for the first time this season at Parkhead.
