Rangers are looking at Standard Liege midfielder Isaac Price ahead of the January transfer window, according to Walfoot.

The Belgian outlet reports that interest from Ibrox doesn't guarantee an approach next month, but information has been gathered on the player.

It is said, however, that Liege expect to lose Price soon and are already looking at a creative option to replace him on a loan deal with an option to buy.

Rangers ready to seal Isaac Price transfer

Is this really what Nils Koppen is looking at ahead of January?

Philippe Clement will be the first one to tell him that is the last position he needs sorting heading into the second half of the Scottish Premiership season.

Connor Barron was signed over the summer, with his fee still to be decided, joining Mohamed Diomande, Nico Raskin and Kieran Dowell at Ibrox in midfield.

Clement is said to be making a new central defender his priority, especially after the injury to John Souttar [Rangers Review] and that makes much more sense.

If a cheap deal for Price can be reached, he could create more competition in that playmaker role alongside the likes of Ianis Hagi and Nedim Bajrami.

Even with those two though, surely that is enough with another striker likely needed should Cyriel Dessers leave the club, which he could.
