The news outlet cited a report from The Athletic on 13 January with the Liverpool-born striker formalising a loan move to Hull City.

Losing out on Gelhardt isn't a major setback for Gers as their primary focus in the January transfer window should be bolstering their defence, rather than adding another striker.

While attacking options are always valuable, Gers have other players who can step up in the forward line.
