Rangers and Philippe Clement are big admirers of FCSB midfielder Darius Olaru and want to bring him to Ibrox, according to the Daily Mail.

The news outlet reported on 30 October that FCSB want to cash in on the Romania international in the summer.

The 26-year-old Romania international, who is known for his goal-scoring exploits, is contracted until 2028 so Gers may have to sweeten the deal by paying more money.

Rangers must ensure that Darius Olaru can take them to the next level

Given the financial constraints at Ibrox, any substantial investment in a player like Olaru must be strategically justified by his potential to significantly elevate the team's performance.

The transfer fee for a player contracted until 2028 could be high, especially if FCSB aim to maximise their return.

Rangers should critically assess whether the 26-year-old's skill set, particularly his goal-scoring ability and overall impact on the pitch, aligns with their ambition to not just compete but excel in domestic and potentially European competitions.

Investing big money is a risk that should only be taken if there's a high degree of certainty that the Romanian can adapt quickly to Scottish football, enhance the squad's quality, and contribute directly to winning titles or advancing in European tournaments.

This approach ensures that financial resources are used efficiently, focusing on acquisitions that promise substantial returns in team performance and market value.

If he's also a player Clement wants, it remains to be seen if the Belgian is actually the manager for next season given his recent struggles.
