Rangers appear set to secure the services of FC Twente captain and defender Robbin Propper, according to Tubantia.

The Dutch news outlet reported on 31 July that the deal is expected to be completed soon in the short term.

Despite signing a deal to extend his contract until 2027 last season, the 30-year-old Dutch centre-back appears to be on his way to Glasgow.

Rangers securing much-needed leadership in defence by signing Robin Propper

Following the departure of Connor Goldson, securing the services of another quality defender is quick work from Gers.

Propper, a seasoned Dutch centre-back, brings a wealth of experience and leadership qualities to the team.

At 30 years old, he is in the prime of his career and has demonstrated consistent performance in the Eredivisie, earning him the captaincy at Twente.

His defensive prowess is complemented by his technical skills, as he is comfortable with both feet and adept at playing out from the back, a crucial aspect in modern football.

This versatility and composure on the ball make him an ideal fit for Rangers' style of play, which often involves building attacks from the defence.

It remains to be seen if the two clubs can strike an agreement but the deal appears likely to go ahead, as things stand.
