Rangers are increasingly likely to submit a bid to secure the services of Marko Soldo, according to the Daily Mail.

The news outlet reported on 19 December that the defensive midfielder is valued at £2million by Turkish club Trabzonspor.

It's understood that he's a player Nils Koppen likes and a January move to Ibrox may be on the cards.

Marko Soldo would be a good signing for Rangers

At 21, Soldo has already shown a capability to play in various midfield roles, from a defensive anchor to a more advanced playmaker, which could address Gers' need for flexibility in midfield.

It seems that with Mohamed Diomande playing in a more advanced role, Soldo can be brought in to play the holding role.

His physical presence at 6ft 2in aligns well with the demands of Scottish football, where physicality is key.

Furthermore, being a part of the Croatia Under-21 setup, the midfielder has demonstrated potential for future growth, which could be nurtured under Philippe Clement's management.

With Rangers aiming to strengthen their squad amidst financial considerations, Soldo represents a cost-effective option at £2million, potentially offering high returns on investment both on and off the pitch.

It remains to be seen if Gers do go ahead and bring the Croatian to Ibrox in January.
