Rangers have already begun to target signings this summer despite the Gers not having a manager.

The Glaswegians have a massive summer coming up. As the 49ers’ takeover of Rangers closes in, a massive squad rebuild is expected.

Numerous stars are expected to be sold and replaced with significant quality in order to challenge Celtic.

Now, despite no manager being close to an appointment, the Gers remain active in the transfer market.

Rangers hold talks with Dundee’s Josh Mulligan

As part of Rangers’ squad overhaul, Josh Mulligan is being viewed as a potential new signing.

Rangers have been linked to Mulligan in the past and have now reportedly made a move.

According to the Daily Record (27 May), the Gers have already held talks with the 22-year-old over a potential move to Ibrox, though it is not stated when those talks happened.

Mulligan had a fantastic season with Dundee, and he helped the Dark Blues avoid relegation from the Scottish Premiership.

The midfielder is out of contract this summer and has attracted interest from a number of Championship clubs, including Charlton Athletic.

The same report suggests that Salford City are also believed to be in the race as they aim to fly up the English leagues.

However, for Rangers, most transfer business is on hold until their manager situation is sorted.

Mulligan would be a great squad option for Rangers

While it is unknown who will be the next Rangers manager, surely whoever comes in will see Mulligan as a great potential signing.

The 22-year-old shone in the Scottish Premiership despite being in a weaker side and he can play in numerous positions.

This type of versatility is vital for the Glaswegians as they look to compete in four different competitions.

On top of this, Mulligan is not shy about helping out up top as he racked up five assists this season.

Hopefully Rangers can get the transfer over the line before another team pouches the upcoming star.
