Ridvan Yilmaz has turned down a move from Rangers to Besiktas after being offered lower wages than Samuel Dahl, according to Yagız Sabuncuoglu.

The Turkish journalist reported via YouTube on 4 February that the Super Lig side made a £3.3million package offer to the Gers for the left-back.

This led to talks being held with the 23-year-old where a "high offer" was made in terms of wages but less than what had been touted to Dahl.

After learning this information, the Turkyie international was outraged and, as a result, opted to reject the offer from his former side.

The Turkish outfit don't appear to be keen on giving up their pursuit of the Light Blues' defender any time soon.

Given that the transfer window is open for another seven days in the Super Lig, there is every chance that the Black and Whites could return with a fresh bid for the left-back.

It will be interesting to see now if the Gers would be willing to accept a new deal and if Yilmaz himself would now want to leave Ibrox for Vodafone Park.

The prospect of returning to his boyhood club could prove to be an opportunity that is too good to turn down before the opportunity disappears.

With that being said, Philippe Clement will be hoping that the Turkish full-back remains in Govan and starts to hit a positive run of form for the rest of the season.

There is a week remaining until the Belgian head coach will have closure on this deal but it appears that there is hope that the defender will remain in G51.
