Nico Raskin has stood out at Ibrox this season, and Rangers want to do everything in their power to make him stay.

The 24-year-old has been a revelation at the Gers in recent months after failing to make a mark in previous seasons.

Belgium have taken notice of Raskin's heroics at the Light Blues and handed him his national team debut in March against Ukraine in the Nations League, where the midfielder impressed.

Celtic have won their fourth consecutive Scottish Premiership title, and if the Bears have any hopes of competing with them, they'll need to keep hold of their best players.

Raskin transfer not on Rangers agenda amid Leeds United and Aston Villa interest

Raskin will not be sold by the Gers in the upcoming transfer window amid interest from Leeds United and Aston Villa, according to TEAMtalk.

The news outlet reports (7 May) that the Light Blues are preparing to make a significant offer to convince the Belgian midfielder to sign an extension at Ibrox.

It's been claimed that the Glaswegian outfit are aware of the growing demand for the 24-year-old's signature, but want to persuade him to snub approaches from elsewhere.

49ers Enterprises should keep Raskin at the Bears for at least another season to help them knock Celtic off their perch.

49ers loyalty tested with Raskin transfer to Leeds

It isn't surprising to see Raskin attracting interest away from Ibrox after what he's been able to do this season.

The Belgium international is among the few players who can hold their heads high despite an underwhelming campaign for the Light Blues.

Andrew Cavenagh and the 49ers could arrive at the Gers in the coming weeks, and it'll be interesting to see what they decide to do in terms of recruitment.

Rangers can't become a feeder club for the likes of Leeds, who are owned by the 49ers, and Paraag Marathe's loyalty may be tested next summer.

If the West Yorkshire outfit make a bid for Raskin, it'll undoubtedly mean Paraag Marathe has no problems with weakening the Light Blues' squad.

What the US consortium do in the winter transfer window could potentially highlight its ambitions at Ibrox.

The Bears can't expect to compete with Celtic if they sell their best players, and it's good to see they are determined to keep Raskin.

Not only should the 24-year-old Belgian be kept at the Glaswegian outfit, but the prospective new owners should also invest in quality players to support him next season.
