Philippe Clement and Nils Koppen are preparing themselves for an "intense" transfer period at Rangers after sealing a deal for Clinton Nsiala, according to the Daily Record.

The newspaper has reported in its print edition [page 43, 11 June] that sources in France shared that Nsiala "snubbed offers" from elsewhere, including to stay in Milan.

The youngster will become Rangers' third signing of the summer transfer window after Jefte and Oscar Cortes when he officially joins on 1 July.

Who is new Rangers signing Clinton Nsiala?

Nsiala joined Milan's youth ranks in the summer of 2021 as a 17-year-old from Nantes in his native France, where he came through the academy system.

Now aged 20, the central defender is set to take the next step in his development after spending three years with the Rossoneri by moving to Rangers, where he will be hoping to make an impression on the first team.

Nsiala is a naturally left-footed centre-back - a highly sought-after quality for teams looking to play out from deep - but is still inexperienced, having never played a senior game for either Nantes or Milan, though he was named on the bench a handful of times this season.

Daily Record Rangers

It is encouraging for Rangers that such a promising young defender - who the Serie A side were keen to keep - has shown such eagerness to join the Gers' project under head coach Clement.

He will be the third name in the door at Ibrox, but there is plenty more transfer activity to come.
