Thelo Aasgaard may be unveiled ahead of Club Brugge clash

Gers begin their pre-season campaign on Sunday, 6 July, with a friendly against Club Brugge.

According to the Daily Record (4 July), the Ibrox outfit expect to have finalised the 23-year-old's signing by then.

Gers will be paying the League One club an initial £3million fee, which could rise to £4million with add-ons.

Martin must get the best out of Aasgaard at Rangers

Aasgaard is known for his quick dribbling, sharp vision and a knack for scoring, evidenced by 14 goals and three assists across 48 appearances for Luton Town and Wigan Athletic.

The Norway international thrives in tight spaces, often cutting in from the left or playing as a No. 10, using his low centre of gravity to evade defenders.

To maximise Aasgaard’s impact at Rangers, Martin should deploy him as a central attacking midfielder in his 4-2-3-1 system, granting him freedom to roam and link with the wingers.

Encouraging quick one-twos and exploiting his off-ball runs will unlock defences.

Pre-season drills focusing on pressing and positional discipline will align him with Martin’s high-intensity, possession-based approach, ensuring he shines in the Scottish Premiership.
