Rangers manager Philippe Clement has shared a new update surrounding John Lundstram's contract extension at Ibrox amid growing transfer speculation.

The English midfielder’s current deal expires at the end of the season and reports have suggested both Ipswich Town [Ezgi Alp, 18 April] and Trabzonspor are eager to secure his signature on a free transfer this summer.

While the Belgian has insisted he is keen to see the 30-year-old extend his stay at Ibrox, he admitted there haven't been any further talks between the parties and that "everything is open" in regards to his future.

As quoted by the Rangers Review (20 April) he said: "Of course, we don't have much time any more. Maybe it's before, maybe it's the end of the season, we will see. It's also about performance, like always, and to make the right decisions then. Everything is open.

"There have not been any more talks now. For the moment, there will be in the future. I know both sides love each other so I expect a solution at the end."

Will John Lundstram leave Rangers and Philippe Clement in the summer transfer window?

Clement has always been vocal in his desire to see Lundstram extend his deal at Ibrox, especially when the midfielder was impressing week in and week out at the heart of the Gers side in the middle of the season.

From the Belgian's comments alone it seems as though Lundstram would be equally as interested in remaining a Rangers player beyond the end of the season, but still, no agreement has been reached.

It seems as though supporters should be expecting a busy summer in Glasgow, with most anticipating plenty of movement both in and out of Ibrox at the end of the season. Whether the Englishman is involved in those switches remains to be seen.

If Clement gets his way, the 30-year-old will almost certainly sign on the dotted line, but it doesn't seem like supporters should be expecting an announcement imminently, especially as talks appear to have been shelved.
