Rangers still have a lot of work to do this summer.

If Russell Martin is to get the Light Blues back to a position where they can compete with Celtic, there is still plenty of work to be done at Ibrox.

That includes player exits and incomings, with several more of the latter certainly expected at Rangers in the coming weeks.

Here, Ibrox News rounds up the latest news to have emerged from Glasgow.

Martin took over the reins from Barry Ferguson this summer, who, despite a respectable UEFA Europa League run, failed to convince the 49ers that he should retain his job.

However, Ferguson revealed that he had a conversation with Martin before he took the job when writing in his column for the Daily Record.

He said: “I did have a conversation with (Russell) Martin. The last thing I wanted to do was cause him any unnecessary distraction.

“The details of what we discussed will remain private, but I will say this: I came off the phone feeling more relaxed about everything and confident that Russell is the right man to move the club forward.

“My last words to him were, ‘Listen, I’ll be right behind you.”

Robin Propper was a mainstay for the Light Blues last season, under both Philippe Clement and Ferguson, but his time at Ibrox seems to be coming to an end.

The defender looks set to join FC Twente back in his homeland, with a medical likely to take place on Friday (25 July).

As for Rangers, they have already prepared for his exit with the arrival of Nasser Djiga and Emannuel Fernandez.

Bolstering the forward line at Ibrox is a priority for the Gers, who had been linked with a move to sign Jesurun Rak-Sakyi from Crystal Palace.

The English winger spent the last campaign on loan at Sheffield United, where he missed out on promotion back to the Premier League.

However, a source close to the transfer has told Ibrox News that Palace would be seeking a permanent exit rather than a loan.

For that to happen, it is believed that a fee of £15million may be needed, after a similar fee was rejected last season.
