Rangers fans may have even more reasons to celebrate soon.

Following their 1-1 draw with Panathinaikos on Wednesday night (30 July), Russell Martin's side booked their place in the next round of qualifying for the Champions League as 3-1 aggregate winners.

Despite Gers' performance getting criticism from some onlookers, the Light Blues ultimately got the job done and are set to take on Viktoria Plzen in the next round.

The potential arrival of Tottenham Hotspur youngster Mikey Moore would give supporters at Ibrox yet another reason to celebrate, with the youngster on the verge of signing in G51.

Sky Sports pundit gives Moore to Rangers seal of approval

With Moore's loan move set to be announced as soon as Thursday (31 July), Rangers will be eager to welcome the winger who could be in line to make his debut against Motherwell on the opening day of the season.

Moore had also attracted interest from West Brom among other Championship clubs; however, Rangers look to have successfully fought off any opposition for the 17-year-old's signature.

Moore is set to be Martin's eighth signing of the summer, alongside:

  • Max Aarons
  • Nasser Djiga
  • Joe Rothwell
  • Thelo Aasgaard
  • Emmanuel Fernandez
  • Djeidi Gassama
  • Oscar Cortes

Lyall Cameron also technically joined the Old Firm outfit this summer, but was signed on a pre-contract agreement earlier this year.

Speaking to Football League World (31 July), Sky Sports pundit Don Goodman gave his thoughts on Moore's move north of the border.

"So, West Bromwich Albion’s loss will be Rangers' gain. I’m pretty confident that Moore will go to the SPFL and absolutely blitz it and do really, really well - very exciting player," he said.

"From West Brom’s perspective, disappointed that they couldn’t manage to tempt him, or persuade him to join them in the Championship, for what hopefully will be a promotion push, but the lure of Rangers was too big, and I'm sure Moore will do well there."

Moore an exciting addition for Martin

Moore is regarded as the finest prospect currently within Spurs' academy, and considering West Brom manager Ryan Mason's links to the North London outfit, Rangers have done well to seemingly get this deal over the line.

The teenager played his part in the Lilywhites' Europa League triumph last season, and regular first-team football under Martin in Scotland will only improve the winger even more.

Mikey Moore's stats in Spurs' Europa League campaign:

  • Appearances - 5
  • Goals - 1
  • Assists - 1
  • Total minutes - 310

Competition for places out wide will turn into a potential headache now for Martin, with Gassama scoring in both of his cameo appearances from the bench against Panathinaikos.

Rangers youngster Findlay Curtis has also impressed, particularly in the first leg of the tie against the Greek giants.
