Rangers will reportedly demand £25million for Youssef Chermiti this summer, which is a figure they simply won't get.

Having signed for Rangers last summer in a deal with Everton worth an initial fee of £8m, Chermiti enjoyed a good debut 2025-26 season at Ibrox.

Fifteen goals in 41 appearances across all competitions marked a solid return for the 22-year-old, but it wasn't enough to fire Danny Rohl's side to the Scottish Premiership title.

Chermiti's valuation hasn't lessened as a result of his debut Gers campaign, but 2025-26 was also his first notably productive season of his young career so far.

Having added Lawrence Shankland to an attack that already consists of Bojan Miovski and Ryan Naderi as well, Chermiti isn't short for competition in Govan moving forward.

Rohl is sure to still have a big role in mind for the Portuguese talent next term, but it remains to be seen whether the player has his heart set on staying in Glasgow.

Rangers' £25m Youssef Chermiti price is a ploy

Turkish journalist Sergen Dag has claimed that Rangers will seek a £25m fee for Chermiti this summer if he was to be sold.

Galatasaray are understood to be exploring a move for him, in what would set a new Gers record for a fee received, which is currently held by Calvin Bassey's £19.6m move to Ajax in the summer of 2022.

However, the likelihood of Rangers actually getting an offer of £25m for Chermiti are slim to effectively none, and that's exactly why Rangers have seemingly set his valuation at that figure.

Still so young and clearly a talented player, Gers clearly envision Chermiti playing a massive role for them in the years to come, with poster boy potential at Ibrox.

However, prior to his final day hat-trick against Falkirk, the young striker had only netted 12 goals in all competitions in 2025-26.

So even after bringing his total tally to 15 in the Scottish Premiership, whilst not a bad season by any means, it's not the kind of return that warrants a £25m price tag after one season.

What Rangers are doing here is acknowledging Chermiti's ability and potential, as well as effectively putting a block on any exit for him this summer.

They know that if he reaches his potential in Govan over the next couple of years, then his valuation could well exceed £25m by then, thus safeguarding against being left prematurely short-changed.

What is a fair current price for Chermiti?

Is Chermiti a better and more valuable player now than the one Rangers signed last summer? Yes.

Has he added £17m (difference between £25m price tag and £8m initial fee signed for) to his valuation in the space of 12 months and a 15-goal campaign? No.

A fairer and more accurate price to truly reflect what his current market rate should probably be is around 15m.

That's a nice but not crazy hike in price from what Rangers paid for him last summer, but also represents the fact that he's still got more to prove before you're talking club-record sale on him.
