The obstacle to a new deal being confirmed for Curtis has been revealed.
A report from Rangers Review's Joshua Barrie on Wednesday claimed that talks have continued in recent months to try and lock the youngster down.
He stated that the starlet wants to play, but highlighted that he is behind Djeidi Gassama on the left and will not play regularly on the right.
Barrie believes that it is sensible for all parties to find a resolution, but admitted that depends on if the academy product agrees to the offer on the table.
He said: "It feels like a common-sense move for all parties to extend his stay in Glasgow if the young winger agrees to Rangers’ offer."
Why Rangers can't allow Curtis to depart for free
The Gers can't lose Curtis, he is a symbol of the academy, something which has been heavily underutilised in recent times.
He has proven that he can perform in Scotland's top-flight, with five goals and one assist in 14 matches on loan at Kilmarnock last season.
The Gers simply has to give him the playtime that he warrants or prove that there is be a genuine chance to play often in the near future.
Derek McInnes has already waxed lyrical about his talent, speaking after the 1-0 win over Aberdeen in August, he said: "Gassama was first-class, as was Findlay Curtis."
If he fails to do that, and the Light Blues lose Curtis for free, it would be a nightmare scenario for the Govan outfit and raise questions among a fanbase which is very happy right now.
They have already done that with Lewis Ferguson and Robbie Ure, allowing homegrown talents to walk away for nothing, they can't do it with another.
