Why Rangers could be signing the next Riyad Mahrez
Growing up as a young Algerian, the majority of football players will look up to Mahrez for all he has done.
Having won it all in England with Leicester and Manchester City, as a winger, Bouanani had the perfect role model.
La Gazette Du Fennec has singled down on that, saying that the impending Rangers signing was seen as a first "worthy" successor to Mahrez.
Unfortunately, a lack of consistent playing time in Germany hasn't helped that expectation, but Ibrox is seen as a place to bring that form back.
Having already scored against Rangers in the Europa League when at OGC Nice, he'll want to bring that skill to Govan.
How Bouanani transfer can break Rangers records
