Rangers will announce their retained list imminently with contract confirmations expected from Ibrox in the next "couple of days", according to Joshua Barrie.

The Light Blues are expected to let several players depart upon the expiry of their deals, with reports suggesting the likes of John Lundstram, Borna Barisic and Ryan Jack have played their final game for the Gers [Daily Record, 28 May].

While Leon Balogun is expected to pen new terms under Philippe Clement, which is yet to be confirmed by the club, however, Rangers Review journalist Barrie insists an official announcement is closer than ever.

Speaking on The Rangers Review YouTube channel (30 May, 14:55) he said: "I would expect it to be pretty imminent.

"In the next couple of days, so keep your Twitter notifications on. My understanding was that decisions were still being made up until the end of the season."

Has John Lundstram left Rangers yet amid Ibrox contract wait?

It has been clear for weeks now that the likes of Lundstram and Barisic will be departing Ibrox this summer, even if Clement has repeatedly insisted he would like the Englishman to put pen to paper over an extension.

Neither player has been anywhere consistent enough over the last few months of the season and it is reasonable to assume that their attention may have been turned elsewhere as they prepare to move away from Glasgow.

Some pundits have urged the Gers to offer Jack a new deal with a performance-related pay structure, but it seems unlikely the Scottish international will be afforded such a contract, especially given his recent fitness issues.

Hopefully, Barrie will be right and the official announcement will emerge from the club sooner rather than later. That way Clement and the fans can begin to put this season behind them and start looking ahead to the summer window.
